Five in the nest and the little one said, "hey, get off my head dad!".
The other morning when I uncovered the cage this is what I saw...
"Listen: there was once a king sitting on his throne. Around him stood great and wonderfully beautiful columns ornamented with ivory, bearing the banners of the king with great honor. Then it pleased the king to raise a small feather from the ground, and he commanded it to fly. The feather flew, not because of anything in itself but because the air bore it along. Thus am I, a feather on the breath of God." From the writings of St. Hildegard

That's great!
Watching baby chicks breaking out of their eggs, little plants poking their heads through the soil, flowers to unfold themselves out of the buds, and a human baby born, fills us with joyous excitement. Could it be that those instances bring us closest to the act of creation and therefore to the creator.
