The chicks are slowly growing their feathers. Today, day 9 since the first egg hatched, small feathers are poking through all over thier bodies. It doesn't look like a comfortable stage of development. It might be comparable to teething. Furthermore not only does the chick feel strange in his new growing feathers but he has two neighbors with pokey feathers too.This must be as comfortable as snuggling with a hedgehog.

Thanks. The trick is I let God do all the work!
Looking at your baby birds, some Dr. Seuss's images begin to seem not so unrealistic after all.
