Earth Day

As I am kicking off the heavy winter blankets, Spring is slowly pulling a green leafy veil over my neighborhood.  Soon there will be a thick shade over the yard in the morning hours. Trees are a wonderful and beautiful thing.
Someone told me today is Earth Day. I do not call myself an environmentalist because the word can carry certain paganistic connotations from which I would like to distance myself, but I am a sort of environmentalist. Creation s beautiful and speaks of the splendor of God. I celebrate the earth every day.  Still, I suppose it is appropriate to set aside a particular day to remember the great gift we have in our planet and to ponder ways in which we can be good stewards of the gift we have been given.
