"Venite et videbitis."

A challenging answer to a curious question. Was this invitation spoken with the force of a command and yet the tenderness of a lover? Did Jesus smile in one eye with joyful anticipation and did he have somberness in the other knowing all that was to come. If the disciples had known more would they have followed? 

I love todays gospel reading. It gets me every time.
