This week I was dreaming of building myself a log cabin. Naturaly, I will first need to buy myself a starter kit. Once I have planned out my perfect cabin I will buy myself some building tools and a plot of land.
Wouldn't it be fun to have a log cabin for a hermitage or classroom. I would put my greatest treasures there or invite my dearest friends to tea.

Log cabin tea party...I'm there! What goodies should I bring? :-)
I'll bring the lemon curd!
I spent at least half of my youth building things from lincoln logs and legos or else fantasizing about building things in real life. Once our fence was rebuilt and it was a matter of minutes before I had the leftover (read: too destroyed to be useful and not yet thrown away) planks made into a little fort. And the novella I wrote at age 14 was more or less a build-up (ahem) to the heroine getting to make her own tree house.
We used to live in one! That is, I spent 20 years of my life in a log cabin that my Dad mostly built. It was great - and some of my most beautiful memories contain it. I hope you get to live in one someday!
My aunt and uncle had a log cabin built for them in New Mexico from a kit as their vacation/retirement home. It rocks.
