Wheezer the beloved father of the three chicks was brutally murdered a week ago Thursday 21st of Dec. The culprit was apprehended immediately, a 2 year old wirehaired dachshund who,neighbors report, "had been stalking him for months". Residents are still shocked that such violence should strike so close to home.
"We knew the dog was out for him but didn't think the bird was dumb enough to get caught." one friend reports. Fowl play is suspected but the investigators even after repeated interrogations are unable to get a clear picture of the victims last hour. The murderers refused to reveal the strategy used to catch the nimble flier.
Wheezer might not have been perfect but he was loved anyway. Since his ladyhen died summer 2006 he had been living the life of a bachelor. He moved in with his dad and they sang duets to the sound of dish water. He is survived by his father in NC and three chicks in TX.
